There is an increasing popularity and demand to obtain both academic and professional accounting and finance qualifications. In many countries, accountancy is a graduate profession and therefore mandatory that students possess both academic and professional qualifications.

In response to these trends the UoG and SBL have developed a programme that will integrate the professional accounting qualifications into an MSc in Accounting and Finance. This will enable part qualified accountants that have passed the ACCA Fundamentals or hold a CIMA Advanced Diploma; the opportunity to further their studies and obtain an MSc Accounting and Finance whilst at the same time receiving assistance with completing their professional exams with ACCA, CIMA or AIA.

The Project and Personal Development Module is specifically designed to include those areas that students on a taught degree course would normally expected to be assessed in, but were missing from a professional exam based course. These areas include Research Skills, IT Skills and “Soft” Skills such as presentation, questioning and listening.
