The University of Gloucestershire is a medium-sized university with over 160 years of history, based on four main campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

The university is centrally located in the UK and within easy reach of major cities. London is two hours away by car or train, with Birmingham, Bristol and Oxford all less than one hour’s distance. Three of its campuses are based in the beautiful town of Cheltenham, often referred to as the “gateway to the Cotswolds”.

Cheltenham is an attractive and peaceful town located in an area of outstanding natural beauty that attracts six million tourists from all over the world every year.

Cheltenham is well known for the many festivals that it hosts, including jazz, science, music, cricket, literature and more. It is also home to the world-famous Cheltenham Racecourse, which is used as a very atmospheric venue, for social events and the university’s graduation ceremony. The university has delivered high quality teaching and higher education since 1847 and now offers an extensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate, Masters and PhD degrees.

All its courses achieved the highest rating in the last teaching quality assessment and several areas were highlighted as examples of good practice. With over 8,000 students, the University is big enough to offer variety and flexibility in its courses, yet small enough that the student can expect a friendly atmosphere and a very personal level of support.

In fact, the Times Higher Education Supplement League Table on Overall Student Experience placed the University of Gloucestershire in the top three of all the 'new universities' in December 2007, and 12th of all UK universities for Overall Quality of Life in March 2008.

The University contstantly aspires to new ways of delivering a sustainable future. It believes in education for all, not just in classroom but in how students live their lives.
